Gneiss. Staurolite - Garnet. Glenelg, Scotland.

This is a thin section of a rare gneiss from the pre-cambrian Glenelg inlier, Northwest Scotland. A gneiss (?schist) containing quartz, feldspar, biotite mica with some alteration to chlorite, (also zircon inclusions with radioactive halo) garnet, kyanite and staurolite, all good and fresh and easy to identify. Recommended.
