This is a thin section microscope slide of an Alkaline Pegmatite from Lovozero area of the Kola Peninsular in Northern Russia. The main mineral is aegirine, but the larger phenocrysts have been altered in the centre to a granular blue amphibole plus other minerals. In ther rest of the slide there is nepheline, cancrinite, sphene, apatite, lamprophyllite, lovozerite, plus at least 3 others I have not been able to identify.
